Our History

GiriVenture, is registered club of its kind in Mumbai, affiliated to the Indian Mountaineering Foundation, New Delhi. This Girivienture organization was a small initiative of a group of friends, started walking on the same terrain roughly from the year 1983. An organisation to help the environmentalist and thrill-seekers people who are keen to scale and explore the untrodden path of the mountains even today our mission has always been to help all nature-lover mountaineers to full fill there desire. The genesis of the mission is therefore founded not on profit making business but on our sincere desire to help daring green panthers to scale and save the heights of rugged mountains. In all our modest activities of save nature, climbing peaks, trekking, we have always felt an irresistible urge to come back. We have felt it almost as a compulsion, as an intoxicant, as the point of fulfillment of our lives.

During this period, many more have joined us. Young minds with fresh enthusiasm have got involved in this endless voyage, in this carnival of joy, sorrow and unrestrained vigor. We have members from various walks of life like doctors, architects, artists, engineers, lawyers, executives, professional managers, teachers, Industrialists and students.

The club enjoys a worldwide membership with its presence in almost all the countries, and has most of the famous mountaineers amongst its members. We are always open to all mountain or nature lovers who wish to excel in the environmental awareness with adventure sports.
